Switch off for a while
Leave the daily pressure behind, slow things down and enjoy a few peaceful hours by the water. Sometimes the best part of fishing is simply being there.
Friendly fishing, welcoming waters and a club built by local anglers for local anglers. Come for the catch, stay for the people, the peace and the stories.
North Staffs Angling is a growing local club with a straightforward aim: create enjoyable places to fish, look after the waters properly and make everyone feel welcome on the bank.
Whether you are chasing a match win, taking the kids fishing for the first time, learning the basics or simply escaping the daily grind, there is a place for you here.
We are building the club together, listening to our members and putting real care into the waters, the wildlife and the community around them.
North Staffs Angling is run by experienced local anglers who want to give something worthwhile back to the area. Fishing matters to us, but so do the people, the places and the future of our local waters.
We believe a good angling club should feel friendly, honest and down to earth. It should offer somewhere to unwind, meet people, learn new skills and spend proper time outdoors.
That is why our focus goes beyond the catch. We want better waters, stronger local connections and enjoyable experiences that keep people coming back.
Leave the daily pressure behind, slow things down and enjoy a few peaceful hours by the water. Sometimes the best part of fishing is simply being there.
Swap stories, share advice and get to know other local anglers. We want the club to feel social and welcoming without losing that quiet bankside escape.
Complete beginner or lifelong angler, young or old, fishing alone or with family — North Staffs Angling is open to all ages, abilities and levels of experience.
We want fishing to be something families can enjoy together, with friendly events, accessible opportunities and a safe, supportive club atmosphere.
Our plans are practical: help more people get involved, improve the waters, protect the environment and build useful partnerships across the local community.
Beginner sessions, family days and future coaching opportunities will help newcomers build confidence with casting, knots, fish care and good bankside practice.
We want the next generation to experience the same enjoyment many of us found beside the water, with welcoming activities that make angling easier to discover.
Clean-ups, habitat improvements, responsible fish care and sensible club rules all help keep our venues healthy, attractive and enjoyable.
We are keen to build positive relationships with schools, local groups, the Environment Agency, the Angling Trust and other organisations that share our aims.
Our committee brings together a strong mix of local angling knowledge and practical experience. As the club grows, we also want more members to get involved and help shape what comes next.
That may include new committee positions, bailiff roles, match organisation and other ways for members to contribute their skills and ideas.
We will keep members updated, explain important decisions clearly and remain open about the work needed to improve the club and meet our responsibilities.
Join North Staffs Angling, buy your tickets and become part of a friendly local club that is serious about good fishing without taking itself too seriously.
